Hey there!

I absolutely love your post! I've just started on as a Seasonal educator and love the culture and environment provided by lulu lemon, as well as the prospect of really being an entrepreneur and helping the organization to grow. However, I find I am not being as well received by my key leaders and floor managers as other educators and my hours are suffering ( a sign that I am not doing as well as I could be) . Do you ( or anyone else) have any advice as to how I can step up my game and really help to contribute while pulling my weight ( times three? :P). e-mail me at Kaykijiji@gmail.com if so, as I would really like to make the transition from retail employee ( from all my previous jobs) to long term EDUCATOR.

Thanks!

Sounds very much like a cult. I looked into Lululemon....applied, interviewed. It's a great design to get young, talented people to work for schlock wages. But you can dress like a slob at work.

Great post!! No. 10 resonated - working in leadership and org. development makes me appreciate culture and stories it even more - they play a gigantic role in the companies success. I also LOVE design thinking! It's definitely a passion of mine and in particular, designing experiences. This allows me to look at interactions (between client and website, user and process, user and experience or between systems etc.) through the lens of the 'desired experience' as the starting point and then step back to look at the many different ways to create that experience - it helps keep me unattached to a particular way of doing something, and more attached to the unforgettable experience I/the team wants to create ie. the experience of a personal touch through an email, or the experience of 'wow that was awesome' when I'm designing a leadership development course or on-boarding experience for new leaders.

Thanks for sharing Margaret :)

I recently went to a group interview for full-time assistant manager but am being called to a second round interview for a part-time educator! It makes me a little 'iffy' since I would be taking a major pay cut and am not sure how I feel about retail. The company just seems to have such an amazing culture and feel to it though, I LOVE the manifesto, and am a yoga freak. Any advice?
