You're absolutely right, Jon. This could only work in certain, probably more "enlightened," markets. Denmark would definitely fit the bill! I'm interested in how these cafes would play out here in Vancouver, where we have the hardcore, lycra wearing people, but we also have the bike-as-fashion crowd. Not sure if the latter is just a fad...I hope not! Cheers, and thanks for your comment!

A definite win in my book. BUT having said that it depends *hugely* on the bike mindset in your location. I mention bike mind set because the approach to "bikes" seems to vary hugely across nation & city boundaries. In Denmark we've seen bikes everywhere, ridden by everybody from the joe-average citizen to high heeled fashionistas (seen it, have photos to prove it). Unfortunately over here in Australia (Sydney) bikes are usually limited to the lycra wearing hardcore sports enthusiasts - this is mainly due to the cities poor planning when it comes to bikes resulting in most motorists having a 'hate' relationship with bikers.

Still I can see this working in more 'enlightened' areas.
